Our historic two-country programme: Damascus, Krak des Chevaliers, Aleppo and Palmyra, crossing into Jordan for Jerash, Amman, the Dead Sea, Petra, Wadi Rum and Aqaba. Operated on request only, subject to travel conditions in Syria.
Day by day
How the journey unfolds.
Day 1
Arrival at Damascus airport, meet and assist, transfer to the hotel.
Day 2
Damascus city tour: the National Museum, Al-Hamidiyah souk, the Umayyad Mosque, Saladin's mausoleum, Azem Palace, Straight Street and Mount Qasioun.
Day 3
Maaloula, Krak des Chevaliers and Marmarita. Overnight in Hama.
Day 4
Apamea, Serjilla and Ebla. Overnight in Aleppo.
Day 5
Aleppo: the citadel, the great mosque, the caravanserai and the covered souk, with an afternoon excursion to St Simeon.
Day 6
The water wheels of Hama, Homs, then Palmyra for sunset.
Day 7
Palmyra: the Temple of Bel, the arch, the colonnade, the theatre and the valley of the tombs, then back to Damascus.
Day 8
Bosra, the Ramtha border crossing, then Jerash and on to Amman.
Day 9
Amman city tour, Madaba, Mount Nebo and the Dead Sea. Overnight in Amman.
Day 10
Drive to Petra via Kerak castle.
Day 11
A full day in Petra.
Day 12
Wadi Rum by jeep, then Aqaba.
Day 13
Free day on the Red Sea in Aqaba.
Day 14
Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
